1st Jersey Sea Scout Group

The 1st Jersey (St Ouen) Sea Scout Group is the only Sea Scout Group in Jersey. Our Beaver and Cub sections follow the same programme as all other Beavers and Cubs, albeit with some water based activities being provided by our Scout Troop and dedicated leaders.

The Sea Scouts follow the core basic scouting programme, but then add a nautical twist to their meetings and activities. The Scouts are out and about during the summer, with some additional meetings used to further develop nautical skills and seamanship. We provide boating activities for other Scout Groups in Jersey as well as visiting Groups. We are looking to start a dinghy sailing programme shortly to add to our Kayaking, coracle making, rafting, RIB rides and training, beach conservation and much more.

We pride ourselves on giving our young people the opportunity to be challenged, develop good friends, have fun, adventure, team work building, and leadership, giving everyone skills for life.

We have also helped many Young Leaders achieve their Young Leader Buckles as they come back to the group to offer their time and skills to support our programme. We look forward to helping more.

We meet at our HQ at St Ouens Mill at the following times:

  • Coral Beavers: Mon – 1745 – 1845
  • Reef Beavers: Tue – 1800-1900
  • De Carteret Cubs: Mon – 1830 – 2000
  • St Aubins Cubs: Wed – 1745-1915
  • Sea Scouts: Fri – 1900 – 2100
