Explorer Scouts…

Explorer Scouts are encouraged to lead themselves, plan evenings and activities in order to have the opportunity to be creative, design their own programme and achieve top awards within scouting.

Explorer Scouts are young people, aged between 14 and 18 years old, explorers are given the opportunity to take part in many camps, expeditions both in the UK and overseas, whilst being given the experience of adventurous activities such as mountaineering, parascending and off shore sailing. Explorers also have the opportunity to be a part of The Young Leaders’ Scheme which develops their leadership skills and sense of responsibility, by helping to run meetings for younger sections.

In Jersey we have four Explorer Units one situated in the east of the Island (Pegasus), one in the centre (Kraken) and one in the west (Triton). We also have a young leader Explorer Unit called Artemis. This is a dedicated unit for the training of Young Leaders. Please use the map below to find your nearest Unit. To register your interest use the ‘Join Scouting Today’ bar on the right of this page.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
