Safeguarding Training

Date: 11th May 2019 Between: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Location: Island Scout Centre, St Ouens

Trainer: Philip le Claire, Scouting Area Safeguarding Co-ordinator

This three-hour session is for all those who have not yet completed the mandatory Safeguarding module, those who need to renew it as is has expired and also for those who need to complete some training for their five hours per year on-going learning. This is an excellent opportunity for members to hear first-hand how to deal with potential safeguarding concerns and share concerns. This is open to all Adults in Scouting, Uniformed and non-uniformed.
HQ have made physical attendance at a formal Scouting Training Course mandatory for all new adults in Scouting and for those that last renewed their Scouting Safeguarding Awareness using the online version or have not renewed it within the past three years
The session is designed:

  • To reinforce that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
  • To ensure that all adults are familiar with the Yellow Card and are confident in understanding its application in Scouting
  • To enable adults to reflect on their current practice to ensure that the organisation is as safe as possible
  • To ensure everyone is confident with reporting concerns
