First Aid Module 10 run by Anne McConomy from A2E
A2E is a local training company set up and run by registered nurses to deliver a range of healthcare and emergency response training courses. We are an accredited first aid training centre and are very proud to be changing the way first aid is delivered, making it bespoke, relevant and fun.
Module 10 content is:
The principles of first aid and initial response (arriving at and managing an incident)
Initial response to a first aid situation
Management of an unconscious casualty (child or adult)
CPR, including technique for children and an explanation of what AED is and how to use it
Causes and treatment of unconsciousness
Heat exhaustion, heatstroke, dehydration and hypothermia
Burns and scalds
Fractures (ambulance imminent and non-imminent) and soft tissue injuries
Minor injuries (for example cuts, grazes and nose bleeds)
Anaphylaxis (use of Epi pen)
This course is planned to run over two consecutive weekday evenings as an alternative to an all-day Saturday course. Those attending should be prepared for all weather (some training may be outside). Refreshments will be provided. Every effort will be made to run the course at an appropriate pace and to finish on time, or early if course content is complete.
