Manager & Support training is designed to support those who hold appointments which manage or support other adults.
Manager and supporter roles include Assistant Group Scout Leader, Group Scout Leader, Assistant Island Commissioner, Island Section Leader, Island Scouter, Island Explorer Scout Commissioner, Island Scout Network Commissioner, Local Training Manager, Active Support Unit Manager, Assistant Island Commissioner, Island Training Manager, Deputy Island Commissioner, Island Commissioner.
What training is required?
As with training through Induction or Wood Badge, the validation of skills and knowledge is essential and learning is only needed if a learner doesn’t already have the skills and knowledge.
If a learner and their Training Adviser agree that learning is needed, there are a number of ways that this is available:
- Independent learning units – available for all of the core skill areas. The core skill areas are the validation areas which act as modules within your Personal Learning Plan.
- Courses – these are run with Guernsey other counties across South West England Region.
